• 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree Holders: Candidates with a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program must have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate (70% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Differently-Abled/EWS). These candidates are eligible for JRF and Ph.D. admission but not for direct Assistant Professor appointments.
• Result Awaited: Candidates currently pursuing their final year of a Master’s or 4-year Bachelor’s degree can apply provisionally under the ‘Result Awaited’ category.

Examination Pattern & Subjects

The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode using objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) available in both Hindi and English. The total duration is 180 minutes (3 hours) with no breaks between papers

The test covers 5 core subjects across three sections (Part A, Part B, and Part C): 1.Chemical Sciences (Code 701), 2.Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences (Code 702), 3.Life Sciences (Code 703), 4.Mathematical Sciences (Code 704), 5.Physical Sciences (Code 705)

How to Apply for NTA CSIR UGC NET June 2026

  • Go to the official NTA Joint CSIR-UGC NET portal at https://csirnet.nta.nic.in. Otherwise, you can access it via the link provided at the bottom of this page.
  • Interested candidates for the National Testing Agency (NTA) CSIR UGC NET June 2026 examination can apply online between May 27, 2026, and June 19, 2026.
  • Click on “New Registration” and enter your basic personal and contact details to generate an Application Number.
  • Log in using your Application Number and newly created password to fill out the complete application form.
  • Upload a clear scanned color photograph (10 KB to 200 KB) against a white background and your signature (10 KB to 50 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Pay the required application fee using Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
  • Download and save the generated Confirmation Page for future reference.

The last date to submit the online application form is June 19, 2026 (up to 11:50 P.M.). However, candidates have until June 20, 2026 (up to 11:50 P.M.) to successfully complete the transaction of the examination fee.

Q2: What is the upper age limit for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)?

To be eligible for JRF, candidates must not be more than 30 years of age as of July 1, 2026. Upper age relaxations of up to 5 years are provided to candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD/PwBD, Third Gender categories, and women applicants. Please note, there is no upper age limit for applying for an Assistant Professor role or for admission to a Ph.D. program.

Q3: Can candidates in their final year of graduation or post-graduation apply?

Yes, candidates who are currently pursuing their Master’s degree or 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree and are in their final year/semester, or those whose results are awaited, can apply for the test provisionally. They will be considered fully eligible only after passing their qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks.
